The year was 1992. India was at the threshold of liberalisation. There was a new hope in the air. Multi-national companies were making a beeline for Indian shores. It was against this backdrop that our CEO Rajesh Madan decided to enter the world of advertising. Starting off as a copy-trainee in a small set-up, he rose to the position of Creative Director at a multi-national communications company within 6 short years. By 2006, he had 8 advertising awards under his belt. His experience spanned breakthrough work for brands like Tata Tea, Air India, Hero Honda, Maruti Suzuki, DLF, adidas, India Today, Blackberry garments. He launched the monks in January 2006. The name was inspired by Robin Sharma’s book “The Monk who Sold his Ferrari”. It captured the work ethos of selfless service beautifully.
